Take Action

As we conclude our "Big Coal" seminar we revisit the theme we discussed on the first day of class. The very first thing we did was reflect and discuss on the relation between the words "action" and "reaction." We talked about how oftentimes our reactions to certain events/situations cause us to take specific actions. We have certainly had many reactions to the issues we've studied, people we've met, and things we've seen and learned throughout the course of this seminar. It is time we now reflect on those reactions and use them to take action. There are many ways to take action including educating others, volunteering, and contacting your representatives. We will "take action" during our last week of the coal seminar by writing to our congressman and senators about bills that have been introduced to the house and senate.
